Meet Our Founder

Our founder, Alice King, is a former attorney with over 14 years' experience advising high-net-worth business owners and executives on their business and financial affairs. After retiring from a successful legal career, Alice was inspired to become a Registered Investment Adviser and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ by an unlikely source, Hurricane Katrina. When her elderly mother had to be evacuated from New Orleans due to flood damage to her residence, Alice become the trustee of her financial matters. Having observed the effects of previous poor financial advice and inadequate insurance and legal protections, Alice realized that objective, comprehensive personal financial advice was essential and life changing. She embarked on the intensive course of study needed to pass the two-day Certified Financial Planner Examination in 2008 and went on to launch her own financial advisory firm in Sonoma, CA.

Ms. King is a Registered Investment Adviser with the State of California and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.

She obtained her Juris Doctor Degree from Columbia Law School and previously, a B. A. in Political Science from Louisiana State University (graduating with honors; Phi Beta Kappa).

She is a member of the Financial Planning Association (and its San Francisco Chapter) and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors.

She resides with her family in the beautiful Sonoma Valley, California wine region.
